# Learn Shuttle

Welcome to Shuttle #welcome
  - You're reading this inside a **Loom** — a document made of **Threads**
  - Each bullet here is a **Node**; nodes nest to any depth
  - Move horizontally: press ← to reach the thread list, then ↑/↓ to walk the threads
  - Move vertically: some nodes link deeper — try one [>>](depth-practice)
  - Two dimensions, one habit: flow forward, dive when curious

---

The Two Modes #modes
  - **Viewing mode** (you start here): arrow keys navigate, nodes are read-only
    - ↑ / ↓ move between nodes
    - ← / → move between the thread list and the content
  - **Writing mode**: press `Enter` or `i` on a node to edit it
    - `Escape` saves and returns to viewing
    - While writing: `⌘B` bold, `⌘I` italic, `⌘1`–`⌘3` headings
  - The fastest door to everything: `⌘K`, the command palette [>>](palette)

---

The Command Palette #palette
  - Press `⌘K` — it works from anywhere, even while editing a node
  - Type to filter commands: switch looms, create threads, zen mode, sync, share
  - Type 2+ characters and it also searches all your content
    - `Enter` jumps to a result
    - Hold `⌥` and press `Enter` to create a depth link to it instead
  - Try it now: press `⌘K` and type "zen"

---

Create & Edit #editing
  - `⇧T` makes a new thread; `⇧⌥T` makes a whole new loom
  - Inside a node
    - `Enter` splits it at the cursor
    - `Backspace` at the start merges it into the node above
    - `Tab` / `⇧Tab` indent and outdent
  - Reorder nodes with `⌥↑` / `⌥↓` (dragging selects — it doesn't move)
  - `⌘Enter` cycles a todo checkbox
    - [ ] try toggling this one
  - In viewing mode, copy/cut/paste (`⌘C` / `⌘X` / `⌘V`) carry whole subtrees
  - Paste multi-line text and it splits into nodes; paste an image and it just works

---

Depth Links #depth-links
  - Depth links connect nodes across threads — Shuttle's vertical dimension
  - Create one
    - Focus a node, press `⌘L`, search for a target, press `Enter`
    - Or `⌥Enter` on a command-palette search result
  - Dive with `⌘→` when a node has a link
  - To come back after a dive, press `⌘←` — Shuttle remembers where you dove from

---

Try a Dive #depth-practice
  - You made it — this is what following a depth link feels like
  - Press `⌘←` to surface back to where you came from [>>](welcome)
  - Diving and surfacing is how you explore an idea without losing your place

---

Sync & Share #sharing
  - Three flows, three purposes
    - **Sync My Devices** — your whole workspace, live on your own devices
      - `⌘K` → "Sync My Devices", then open the pairing link or QR on the next device
      - No account, no email — your device is your identity
    - **Share This Loom Live** — one loom, live with another person
      - Loom icon menu → "Share live…", send the invite link
      - You stay in control: stop new joins or remove a member anytime
    - **Share a snapshot** (`⌘⇧S`) — a frozen, read-only copy via an expiring link
      - Thread, loom, or everything; expires in 1, 7, or 30 days
  - Rule of thumb: live share is a conversation, a snapshot is a photograph

---

Power Tips #power-tips
  - `⌘1`–`⌘9` switch looms directly; `⌘B` opens the Loom Manager
  - `⌘.` toggles zen mode when you want nothing but the words
  - `⇧⌘I` opens Loomy, the built-in AI helper
    - `⌘`-click a thread or node reference in Loomy's replies to create a depth link
  - Outgrown a bullet? `⌘K` → "Convert Node to Thread" promotes it, subtree and all
  - `⌘⇧S` while writing is strikethrough; `⌘⇧S` while viewing shares a snapshot — context matters
  - Where to next: revisit the palette [>>](palette) — it's the whole app under one key
